Enterprise

HD Enterprise Sails 2012 National Champions.

HD Sails offer two designs, one set designed by Jim and the other by Andy. Both designs have won World, National and inland titles.

Andy’s design (HD 1) was developed with Richard Estaugh. The sails were developed using a cross cut pattern. Richard sailed with a straight entry in the jib but with quite a bit of fulness low down to give good pointing ability and power. The mainsail was made with less luff round and more seam shaping, this gave good power off wind and good pointing ability upwind.

Jim’s design (HD2.2) started being developed back in 2008 for Nick Craig. Nick went on to win the Nationals and Worlds with that design. Since then the jib has been refined with a radial clew and leech flutter patches for better longevity. The mainsail has also had a few luff curve modifications and changes to the leech exits below half height. Further work in 2011 lead to the addition of a radial head and clew to the mainsail, this has enabled us to straighten the lower leech exit for better light airs perormance.
